Many thanks to Caitlin Moran for allowing up to record this extract from her truly wonderful book ‘How To Build A Girl’. This book is written in the first person and explores 14 year old Johanna Morrigan’s life growing up in a large chaotic working class family in Wolverhampton. Johanna and her hormones escape through her love of literature, music and writing. It is less about class but an endearing, poignant and funny insight of life as a teenage girl.
This extract was performed by actress and student Estée Spencer as part of her Grade 8 << Lamda >> Verse and Prose Exam. This would also be perfect for the << NEA >> syllabus too! Enjoy. (More links at the end)
